added a bit of pipe to the down pipe before the flexi so the flexi clears the subframe better
welder seems to be working better now

bit of plate to fill the hole

also welded inside for better support and extra sealing

new tig welder is going to have to pay for itself lol

tidyed up the mig welds by going over them with the tig

will take some getting used to

thought i would stress relive the manifold flange lol bad idea
cut a 1mm slot and after cutting it closed up had to tap it on the the head bolt it down put some stainless strip in then weld in on the front and the back
its stress relieved now lol

3.5" inward rolled and baffled tip

flange touches the heat shield on the auto leveling sendor

now to make up the gap

im sure it will get better with practice

rest of the fittings came to so time to crack on and get the manifold done 🙂

had to swap back to the mig to get the last bit done was real low on gas 🙂
just need to whip over the inside with the die grinder and a carbide burr

its loud and lumpy with lots of fuel 🙁

found the running issue the pipe was off the boost gauge map sensor

then made a heat shield its a copy of the original just shaped to miss everything and fit in place
i took the original mounting off the heat shield and pop riveted the new on to it all is well and temps are quite low down the back after a 10 mile drive

next step is to fit 2 new rubbers to the back box and then a different gasket to the downpipe i think the sheet steel on is blowing ive got a fiber one to fit and i also need to weld in the lambda bung for the wide band

the gasket was leaking now ive got a fiber one to replace it 🙂

U just cant leave it alone can u.

iv got a nail outside my house come n fix that for me.

yay 100% sensor health that's the 1st time ive seen that lol

and for my next trick i will use the alternator exciter wire to trigger the relay for the booster pump and the charge cooler pump so they only run when the engine is running and not just when the ignition is on
probing the wire with the engine running shows 14v

and with the engine off but ignition on 0v 🙂

time to drain the water again :confused:
