do you know the size of the core plug needed for the turbo oil drain ? dad seems to think its funny to hide the calipers from me

Not messing about there with the porting! I'd be shitting myself doing something like that to a brand new engine.

and thats the end of porting the exhaust side

i like the way it looks 🙂 no valve seats were harmed in the making lol

now just the inlet so smooth over its well matched to the gasket from the get go

well the seat is cut 3 ways and at different angles the 1st to angles i left untouched the 3rd angle is the same line as the port so that was blended in to the port bowl without touching the other 2 angles where the valve seats to
there has been quite a lot of material removed from the bowl area but lots have come from the port area i tried not to go to far in the bowl area as i don't want to break thru
once i had poo poo'd doing the 1st on the other 3 were cleared out much quicker than just the polishing to do went thru about 2m of emery cloth lol

lets just say thats one thing off my bucket list i've never done one before let alone a brand new one 🙂

I usually make a blank in the lathe, but you can just measure the upper bore size of the hole

working up to the valve seat but not on it 🙂 this is before the polishing stage their is also not much work to be done inlet side

got bored and then a bit carried away with a strip of scotch pad in the home made flap wheel tool lol

can safely say the exhaust side is done 🙂

its a hole in the manifold flange 🙂
i think it more than enough now lol working on getting the inlet the same but run out of emery cloth

inlet ports all done now forgot to take pics of the polished ports got a can of degreaser so will jet wash the head off tomorrow and get all the swarf off
might try and convince mom to let me put it in the dishwasher lol

then the block got put on the table

long thing for pushing out the pistons 🙂

i like the way the con rods are broken in half at the bearing caps so they only fit that rod and one way round

@[deleted] is there supposed to be sealant on the oil track from the pump ? only has sealant on the out side

m12 x 1.5 is the size of the water pump plug need to get a bung for the temp sensor

balancer shaft rear bearings pushed in 7.5mm

you can see the oil way is blocked

took all the sealant off with a glass razor

some of the block parts bagged up

dishwashers are great for cleaning car parts, i wouldnt put it in with all the pots though just a few mugs maybe(y)
