Well the vans pretty much done the fans are working but for some reason the cooling light comes on unless I keep the aircon fan plugged in and all 3 fans come on at the same time so for now I'm going to wire one fan to the fan plug and one to the aircon plug and eventually remove the cooling module and fit a fan switch. .

What's frustrating is I can't get the temp gauge to work the only fault is coolant circuit high input and the eml light is on its weird as everything works as it should...

Bigger problem than that though I'm pretty sure the water pump is leaking and I don't have time before pvs to sort that I'm going to have a proper look on Wednesday but I'm not sure what to do now

Have you kept the resistors wired in? You could just bridge the air con fan plug with a bit of wire, did you remove the air on pump in the end? My pumps been wearing for months and I've done about 3 track days since and it's still going so don't panic about that

Yeah with all resistors wired in the light is off but all 3 fans come on at the same time. I thought the aircon fan only came on if it was really hot.
Yeah I've removed everything aircon related under the bonnet apart from the loom as it goes through the coolant module.

So why do you have the air on fan still then? I'm convinced my sc map is to blame for my original fan issues.

I'd order yourself a revotec electronic fan controller and just do away with the cooling module all together, that's what I've done (y)

I only plugged it in to see if the light went off its not actually fitted..
Yeah I think that's going to be the next thing tbh I'm not happy with all these resistors all over the place lol

Yeah will look tidier too I don't get why they use a coolant module tbh it's abit over complicated just to switch a fan on lol

Yeah dave I took it round the block today to test the brakes but I didn't boot it or anything as much as I wanted too lol

ive actually had the opposite with the ccm i thought it was going to give me grief but its not been an issue even with tapping into and running the main fan manually
i think the ac fan is wired in series thru the resistor from a feed off the main fan theres 3 resistors :S

you would be better running the 2nd fan from a relay triggered off the 1st fan

Tbh I think if I had kept the aircon it wouldn't be so bad but I need to have the pressure switch plugged in and 3 big resistors that have to be in the airflow so until I remove them it's going to look shit lol

I'll have a fiddle on Wednesday and see what I can do..

How hard is the water pump to change and is the a special tool? I've only ever done belt driven ones before

U do need a special tool for the water pump. How bad is it leaking?

That's annoying looks like I'll be buying one then lol
I had it running until the fans kicked it and when I put it in the garage there was a puddle the size of a football not shit loads but it must of been dripping

a little on the tight side but easy enough to use and change the pump

What do you think the chances of it surviving pvs if I only drive it there and back obviously no one can tell but do they last a while or go quickly?
On renaults there quite severe if they leak

depends on the leck if its pissing out do it now if its hardly showing then it may be ok
hard to judge if its already lecking

Hmm I won't have time to do it before pvs I've got loads of work on and I need to order the tool I might just take it there slowly and bring coolant with me lol I've got breakdown cover
