I love a good brew,The kettle is one of the best tools I own.
When paired with a roll up it's ideal for diagnostics, problem solving and shifting stubborn bolts.
However it's a bit far for me to travel.

Agreed, nothing like standing back with a brew and a roll up pondering the problem to allow you to come up with a new solution (or a bigger hammer).

If at first you don't succeed, try a bigger hammer.
A motto handed down to me via my father from my grandfather.
If that doesn't work then F$$#G T$$T it.
Works for me.

Hi. I'm watching this thread 'cos I bought an Astra SRi 2.2 recently and I'm pulling off the head as one plug was rusty and half of what came out of the sump was water. Suspect (hope for) HG problem rather than cracked cylinder head. The jobs going OK but it's outdoors, it's cold enough to worry a brass monkey and it's snowing today.
So while I'm indoors pondering the Haynes manual, I've noticed it says to replace <u>all</u> the head bolts. Does it mean just the 10 stretch bolts or include the 4 little bolts at the camchain end? The standard VX HG kit only has the 10 bigguns, I'm told.

lol. I'll wear a helmet and look out for falling tortoises.
I'm prepared for anything, as I bought it diagnosed as a cam chain failure, but why do you think a head would fail,rather than the gasket?
