had to loosen the airbag to slot the leather back in

new retrofit flat blades mine were 7 years young but needed changing

all on its tod

it was more of a job than i 1st thought the recaro bottom runner was rusty quite bad so stripped my seat down and fitted the undercarriage to the recaro

there big and comfortable 🙂

riddle me this im sure this aint right the tensioner dont even hit the rail can it be that its made up with oil pressure ?

been working on the back end of a merc c180 kompressor most of the day with dreaded squeaky bushes got that sorted now to move on to my car lol

swollen rubbers need to buy some silicon grease

your balance chain is a lot tighter that what mine was ,mine was literally hanging off the bottom cog ,could also see where it was hitting the metal on the bottom

close but not wanting to come out had to undo all the subframe bolts and then the steering rack to get the extra inch

and they're OFF!

now to make the idlers

my arm was knackered after cutting the too shafts

no posh lathe shite here 🙂 just pure skill and burnt fingers

and then a clean up with sandpaper and thinners

i've impressed myself🙂

had some issues getting the bearings to move had a word with @[deleted] he gave the heads up thanks for that buddy 🙂
i had also put the wrong socket on the extension bar 28mm and not 30mm

engine low hope its not pulled any cables

7.5mm in

have to say thanks to @[deleted] for the great service yet again
my advice to anyone needing chain kits or bits for the z22se go here https://z22se.co.uk/shop/ genuine parts at lower than gm prices

new balancer chain came

stud locked the bolts on the idlers used the old chain in the vice to hold it still while tightening

and fitting still timed it up even tho the shafts are cut

cam sprockets

bottom end

have to say fitting a chain to this engine is real easy its like they made it fool proof with the colored links

more later got to pop out to get new oil and then do the ARB bush's

all the subframe bolts are in but need torque wench settings for them
all the lower engine is built up just need to do the cam bolts and the crank bolt found this info on the forum heres a refresh

new oil bought going to flush it thru with the oil stuff again to clear any shit thats in the sump

front engine mount separated from the metal

new power flex ARB bushes fitted

pulley back in

and back up level 🙂

Track rod to swivel hub S1-30nm
S2 - further 90degrees
s3- another further 15degrees
front engine mounting/torque link to subframe 55nm
Lower balljoint to low arm 35nm
Subframe mounting bolts S1- 90nm
S2- further 45deg
s3 - further 15deg
Rear Hub assembly to trailing arm 50nm
