I'm pretty sure that the 2.2 clocks are different to the tubby ones.....but i cud be wrong.... just something rings a bell

hmmm have you swapped all the ecu's then?
as that and the fuel gauge were standalone on mine.

Yup has to changed ecu too, u could be right daz I'm going to change the car loom firsts if that fails then will try clocks.

2.2 clocks will be different as z22se ecu is different to most vxhall engines

remember putting gsi clock's in my veccy 2.2 and the revs were half what they should be

That's weird.. I put Astra SRi-T/GSi 160mph clocks in my SRi 2.2 and everything is as it should be.

Well according to vauxhall the clock are the same on the 2.2 and turbo

Only reason i say they are differnt is that i can do mileage correction on every astra, vectra and zafira's except the 2.2 varients....just wont happen.... ure issue must be down to the loom then...

I didn't do mileage correction on mines so I don't know. I had 44k on my clocks when I bought 160mph ones with 44.5k on them.. I drove another 500 miles before I fitted them.. I even had a pointless drive just before I fitted them just to make sure the mileage was exactly the same as on new clocks (I know, it's sad haha) :lol:

is the signal wire registering a voltage?
would adding an adjustable resistor to change the signal to the clock work?
this is certainly what you have to do to get the rev counter to work from the tacho output on an aftermarket ecu.
i guess testing/adjusting it, would be tricky as youd need the wheels to be moving.

The strange this is tho the snap on solars scanner can read the wheel speed when it's spun.

thats why i say about the adjustable resistor.

on the rev counter i think its a 10ohm adjustable (cant remember off hand) this will help adjust the signal to something the clock can read.

well i got a new wiring loom turning up this week so when i get a chance im going to fit it if that fails then try the resistor or new clocks.

Thanks for the pic,i see that your 2.2 is also running @ 650rpm idle so now i definetly know that that is good. (opend a threat for that)

What happened to the 2.2 idea you was thinking of doing?

Would you do the conversion again?

Well I thought I should add I sorted the clocks it was the abs pump and control unit it thats all now working. I have just installed ESP in to the car all the sensors and all programmed.
The 2.2 idea did happen and I built it then sold it for more power.
I prob would do the conversion again as I now know what to do.
