Sidey Great convertion! I see in your post's that you say that the age of the astra's mater? I have a 2001 astra g coupe z22se auto and a 2002 Astra G SRI 190 turbo write off and plan to swap the whole thing over, Do You have any advice or pointers before i start? I dont plan to start the convertion yet unless i sell the Z22SE first. Cheers
sdbutler10 Just u might need to swap the car loom as well. You can tell by looking in the passenger side footwell behind a plastic cover there should be 3 plugs not 2
brian_2013 Hi.y z22se engine packed up and im thinkin of droppin a z20let engine in to replace it. Was wondering if you had to upgrade suspension,brakes, engine mounts? Tht sorta stuff. Many thanks brian

si_c1978 suspension can stay the same as well as the gearbox, i believe for the z20let you will need different mounts and a whole new exhaust system from manifold back. i would have thought the z20let engine (pig iron lump plus metal manifolds turbo etc) would be heavier than z22se (ali with a few plastic bits) that being said however my z20net (also ali) conversion i always found under hard acceleration it felt like it needed a paving slab in the front, so the extra weight with that turbo acceleration may be a good thing. oh and hi scott long time no hear! hows the jap beast?
brian_2013 Ah ok, thanks. So now on my list i got z20let engine, ecu,loom, transponder, key chip, engine mounts and a new exhaust. Anything missed lol? And Am i right in thinkin the shafts and fuel pump need to be changed?

corsaZ22se yeah the bell housing is differant on z22se to the z20let. fuel pump and shafts will be the same, r/h engine mount is diferant where it bolts to engine, rubber part on inner wing is the same. ive used mainly astra g mounts in my z222se corsa c which had a z20let in before i got it. that was about 40kgs heavier on front axle with the z20let in it. cat back exhaust should be the same i would have thought? my corsa one fits standard engines, z20let and z22se. you will need intercooler and pipe work, not sure if accelarator pedal is the same on the two engines? i know the vectras pedal is differant to the one left in the corsa when i got it.

Daz it does but as mentioned above the bell housing is different where the starter motors fit. (front on z22 rear on z20)
corsaZ22se f23 from astra g z20let or corsa c z18xe or simalar aged vauxhall with these engines, zafira gsi has the f23 but lower ratio so quicker accelaration. down side is poor cruising speeds and poor fuel economy.

(front on z22 rear on z20) whoopsie forgot about that, on the exhaust score, thats why i opted for the z20net (before i knew it would be a pig to get running) as the z20let mounts the other way around in the engine bay (turb/exhaust at the front inlet at the back if im not mistaken?) so you'll need at least the manifold and front pipe.
