to be honest I think the z20let ecu and loom might be a very good idea, both are 2.0 turbo vauxhall engines so should have a similar map, plus the z20let ecu can be fully mapped 😃

would that also get around the can problem?
i think a z20let ecu shouldn't be too hard to get hold of really, an idea to bear in mind if all else fails!
would it run arent the sensors more similar to the z22se?
im with rushy,
if i can get hold of some diagrams i may try and re-wire back to the car if nothing happens i suppose we'll then know!
the power steering and stuff should be ok to use origional cables as far as i can see.
got the weekend to work it out. hopefully the thermostat housing will be back tomorrow :thumbup:
and a nice chunk of scorpion centre section turned up yesterday!
if nothing else happens ill have lots of shiny new bits to look at even if they arent attached!

z20let is £225 but it now on ebay, loom on the other hand could prove tricky :think:

z20let doesn't use CAN :thumbup:

it would be like fitting a z20let, just match the wire colours 😃

the only possible glitches might be the cam sensor and coil pack, but you could use the z20let coil pack with plug leads

which loom would i be matching to? the existing one? or will one of the plugs swap straight over?

Got a spare one of these 70mm cable throttles for cheap if you decide to go this way.. also got a base megasquirt map for you 🙂

i think were gonna need a good conference about this one!
i may also try and lay my hands on a tech 2, <u>if</u> that'll solve the key coding issues between ecu's

thought id try the easy way out first, ive spoken to the local stealership and they are getting back to me regarding if the ecu will run on its own/unlocking it,
they seemed to know what i was banging on about which was promising!
someones gonna ring me back later,

i think i wanna go megasquirt or z20let ecu deep down inside, but i will definately keep that in mind for performance upgrades at a later date.
i really just wanna see the engine work at this stage, as ive had her 3 weeks.

vauxhall cant do anything, but they kindly told me two places i can get the imobiliser blanked/removed,(tamar electronics and maytech both in plymouth)
it wouldnt have an imobiliser anymore but would run the systems then as normal in theory.

could be a result!

an aftermarket immobiliser would fix that problem :thumbup:

sounding good si, with the imobiliser you can buy a key one off ebay that would work so lose the one in the key.

Found a lad on Vectra C forum doing a conversion just like yours and he has canbus issues like you. You might get some tips from his post. He is using a Turbo Z20LEH lump

ive had a look through the thread,
it does kindo appear he has become a bit overwhelmed by the electronics side of the conversion and seems to be paying someone else to finish,
nice idea but i think its gonna take some of the job satisfaction out of it and a few thousand i dont have lieing around!
ive posted him and asked a few questions.
i couldn't get hold of maytech today as they are not open, and tamar electronics only do diesel ecu's and are the sister company.
anyway ive been through and a certain amount of the wiring diagrams in the good old haynes and it seems a certain amount of the origional wiring can be used, so im thinking the starter motor powersteering and a few other odds n sods can be preliminarily wired in
(and maybe the radiators seperating off the wires that go to the old ecu, vainly hoping they may match something from the other loom)
then whats left from the old loom trace back and remove, then from the new loom remove all wiring that is already in situ in the car(as above)
this should then leave me with a slightly smaller and less confusing bundle of wires to sift through! :thumbup:

boo had a bit of a no start day yesterday got far too pissed on saturday nite and neither me or me mate could hack it! :sick:
still i got the coolant system and intercooler etc in on saturday just need to find some ducting suitable for my bottom port on the intercooler!
on the up side all of that goes straight back in, bar a few pipes that have the odd 'T' in em which can be made up from the origional z22se pipes :thumbup:
