not yet,
the company in plymouth won't touch it for legal reasons so thats that up the swanny!

any more ideas?

Try these they do recon ECM, ABS units etc I think they sell uncoded ECM's too if not them may know someone who does????

im afraid the site comes up bad on t' intershed,
ive had another kick in the balls, i really dont think we will get around the CAN problem now, i just keep hearing to many 'no's when i try different avenues,
i think i may start looking into the stand alones a bit more seriously,
my mate still wants to have a go at wiring in as there is a chance it'll help, and it'll give us somewhere to start for the stand alone.
is megasquirt the best option? i dont know much about standalones.

and heres some pics of his little project which is coming on a lot better!

have you considered using the z22se ecu, throttle body, crank and map sensor from your old engine, wont be plug and play as it will reqire mapping but at least all the ancillary electrical equipment such as dashboard and immobiliser will work with no mods.

he loves rebuilding engines that pump out 400bhp and dropping em into novas etc

lol but then he'd end up back with a 2.2 since he would have to change the pistons and rods too

daz has suggested the same thing, presumably the pin out at the ecu ports would be different?
does anyone know?
if it was different it wouldnt be too much of a problem as you would just re-wire the plugs as the ecu ports are the same.

ill give matey a shout, it'll certainly be helpfull.
now ive got the engine in and plumbed in etc i just gotta make an exhaust system consisting of flexi exhaust then z20net cat moved to under the car then link up to my 2.5" scorpion straight thro' hopefully my old back box will go on.

Lol, I meant keep the engine in place but swap the NET engine control and sensors for the z22se ones.

If the loom is swapped back too the most of the sensors will plug straight in

its a good plan,
chip has also joined the wire it in it should work in 'theory' band so we'll press on with that for now and investigate!
he is also saying that we could swap ecu's for the z22 one

the z20net engine uses a different crank sensor set up, so the z22se ecu won't work on the z20net engine without mods.

z22se = 7-1
z20net = 58-1

you could of course fit an external crank trigger wheel set up

what like on the corsa where the trigger wheel runs off the crank pulley

now then things are getting interesting, coz the z22se runs a map sensor it may be able to read boost so chip says,

but you could use the z20net crank sensor with a megasquirt :thumbup:

the z22se uses a stupid 7-1 trigger wheel :thumbdown:

if you double the size of the map sensor you can double the size of the injectors, this is what they do with the sc conversions :thumbup:

so a 2 Bar map sensor and some z20let injectors or perhaps retain the z20net injectors dunno..

so if all else fails, the general feeling is to go down the megasquirt route,
are we saying i wont need sensor just a trigger wheel?

megasquirt should be able to reuse the standard z20net sensor, just connect the wires :thumbup:
