didn't go too well in the end 🙁
He soon hit the same problems I was having and we couldn't trace it to anything particularly wrong, we even got a new set of spark plugs as my gaps were too big and that still didn't fix it 🙁
I'm pretty sure I'm going to ditch the megasquirt since can't get round this problem notsure.gif it must be an ecu problem
I think I'm going to get the DTA S40 along with nick
Have to say big thanks to Paul as he was very understanding about me wasting his time
A few posts before you said that the new pump etc. cleared your problems. (The cut out above 4000 rpm under boost..)
What new (or old) problems did you experience now then?
yeah it was OK, I did quite a few pulls on the motorway the night before and it was fine.. but as soon as Paul started ajustingthe map it came back 🙁
He described it as "It happens when I start to put more fuel in" and "It just can't burn it"
I think my map was so far out (because I was trying to get round the problem) that it must have avoided it, i.e. completely wrong timing which needed less fuel (and resulted in seriously lowered power output)
I've tried so many different parts... 2 different pattern trigger wheels/sensors, z20let and then vxr injectors, z22se coil pack and ford coil pack, spark plugs, many different wiring setups, now a totally high spec fuel pump, and even a professional mapper.. process of elimination leads me back to the ecu every time, but only one way to prove that's the problem.. unfortunately it costs £500 🙁
