yeah chain is definately fine (it turns the cams and aligns perfectly (timing tool has been inserted on the pic above))
I managed to get it started this morning having charged the battery all night and cranked it for about 30 seconds and eventually it got going after a lot of coughing and spluttering..
I'm thinking the plugs could've been wet or something?
The last 2 times i started it before I got this problem I was reversing it out of the garage onto the drive.. left it for 5 hours (int the rain) while I built a wooden gate in the garage.. then drove it back in, so the engine was only on for a matter of seconds each time.. if the air filter got wet and sucked a bunch of wet air in and the engine didnt have a chance to get warm.. could that have stopped the plugs working?
