I'm also curious why you went for a saab head but not liners? I thought the stock head was good for 600 bhp? Are there benefits I'm missing with the saab head?
The biggest issue I personally have with the z22se head is the taper spark plugs, due to the design of the head the spark plugs can crack the head if over tightened
the saab /lsj head uses flat washer plugs π
But the real reason for using the saab head is it's much stronger than the z22se head as it's 'sand cast' rather than 'lost foam'
also it's designed to work with a sc inlet manifold
The reason I have not had liners fitted is that I was asked to build a reliable 350 bhp engine, so liners are not required.
If the engine's owner wishes to increase power over 400 bhp at a later date then it's not a difficult job to have the liners fitted, the wiseco pistons can be retained.
