robo22sri went to see the car today! what a mess it is! they nicked my tank of petrol from the car :wtf: and my richbrook areial is missing from the car! there was mud all over the interior! and the wheel hub and shock was in the boot! tossers man
Matt That's wrong! What if you were to buy the car back?? Surely they can't treat it like that unless they know that it's going to be written off and crushed/scrapped.
Sjdickso As Matt said that is way out of order, your car looks a sorry state. I bet if you ask about the petrol they will say it was removed for health and safety reasons.

Sjdickso Matt said: Sjdickso said: I bet if you ask about the petrol they will say it was removed for health and safety reasons. and promptly filtered into their own vehicles Thats is Matt but i bet if you ask them it will have been disposed of in a enviromental safe way at a cost to them

I'm suprised Tim1 hasn't had anything to say about this, as he works for ChrisKnott.
robo22sri i'm not dealing with chris knott just gone straight to the insurance company high ways! they had my documents they lost them in ther internal post!!! I spoke to them today and it gets worse! they have offered me £3850 for my car! but they also want to take £900 i owe vauxhall out of this money and the excess of £500 which would leave me with £2450 i cant even buy another late astra 1.8 sri now with that sort of money!
Matt That's not a bad payout to be honest mate: Original Price £15,100 Franchised Dealer £3,735 Independent Dealer £3,520 Private Good £3,005 Private Poor £2,240 Part Exchange £2,615
robo22sri i have been looking on autotrader and i cant find another 2.2 sri black prodrive in my local area! i have found 2 silver 2.2 prodrives but are 50 miles away as the crow flies and they both have 60k on the clock like mine and these are both up for 4k! i would say my car is worth more being as it is pearl black and had few mods on it i spent around 2k on wheels, suspension parts, and black diamond brakes all round! there was one black prodrive on an 03 but had 51k and that is up for 4.5k so i would say mine is worth that to with my mods
Sjdickso I think 3850 is a very fair offer TBH. I know it was your pride and joy. Also you can not take into account the HP you owe or your excess. Sorry.
sdbutler10 insurance companys dont car about mods they are happy to take the money off you when u declaire them but as soon as u need to claim them back all of a sudden they dont exsits.
Matt You really can't take mods into account when working out the value of the car....unless you agree a price of the car before with the insurance company like Jamee did on his Coupe. You'll never get back the cost of the mods on the value of the car, and even then, selling privately you'll only get what the car is worth in the buyers eyes. That is the harsh thing about modding, it's better to get the car back to standard before getting rid if you can. The insurance company will only give you what it books at, regardless of how much you have spend on mods.
