Hi akk, Take a look at these pictures below. Im no great mechanic but like to have a go at it. Are the little squares at the edge, oil wells that I assume the oil runs through ?
Only one of the 6 wells is covered in mayonase - Do you think this means that the crack, broken gasket has broken at this particular place ?
What are your opinions on this ??
Main reason for taking the cover off today was the car started sounding like a diesel. Can clearly see that the chain is slack so I assumed the tensioner has failed. Car drove ok to where I parked it overnight so dont think its jumped any teeth thankfully. Chain fixed now, nice and tight and runs smoothly. No teeth jumped !
