First things first
check for play in the guides
if the valves are sloppy (without the seals) within the guides,
Then yes
GOOD LUCK

Once the head is off, stem seals are fairly straightforward. The pain is getting the collets back on the valve stems. Patience here.

Guides are a bit more awkward, but replacement is easy enough if you freeze the guides overnight and heat the head up evenly until it's just about too hot to handle (wear gloves). Me and a mate put in 8 new guides in about 5 minutes this way. The hard part is getting them in the right depth. We made up a drift with a depth stop on it, but drifting them in a bit at a time until the right amount is protruding (12 mm iirc, but check) should work as well, just takes bit longer.

Have fun.
