Threaded the ball joint clamp bolt...

Ive replaced both CV joints on my vectra b today, all went well until the last one.....

Ive managed to thread the bolt that clamps the ball joint together and now it wont torque up

Will a similar sized high tensile bolt do the job? Or do I need the proper vaux one? If anyone has a part number for vaux I'd really appreciate it.

Any suggestions most welcome!

I went to a dealer only cost me £1:60 for bolt and nut

That sounds good, dont suppose you still have the part number do you?

Sorted! Freindly local Vaux dealer had one on the shelf. £1.58!

Was just going to reply aswell telling you its called a pinch bolt

Thats what Vaux told me! I didnt expect it to be in stock but he knew exactly what I wanted. Job done now, nice new joints and shiny abs rings!
