Ill cut along story short! last weekend changed fuse on stereo, tried to load code didn't want to know, 3 attempts later 7 safe appears, 1 trip to VX 1 new code, (head unit changed at some point previous to me owning car) tried again still locked out on 7 safe, is there anyone out there who knows how long i have to keep the car running before code will accept
or is it just b@ll@xed?

Who told you that you need to keep the car running notsure.gif , anyway it is a time thing, you mess it up once you have to wait x amount of time mess it up again and you have to wait x times x if you know what i mean.

Audio manual: switch ignition on, turn radio off, keep AS control depressed and turn the radio on initially "SAFE" will be shown on the display followed by 10---- This indicates number of attempts left to enter the correct code. This is what i followed, upon third attempt and my realizing i had the incorrect code decided to stop, until i got the rite code from VX, radio still wont accept the correct code and continues to show 7 safe and will go no further even though i leave it for varying times. kill me now! notsure.gif

Yes m8! took her in yesterday, 6 hrs later got a call from Vx job done £36 in all, that was delocking stereo and correct code for that unit, mine had locked out on 7 safe! there was a genuine problem with the unit which i really couldn't get to the bottom of at the dealership they seemed quite cagey as usual. If you cant find your security code give your local dealer a call, give them the stereo name ie vdo cdr 500 and the stamped product code on the side of the unit, usually starts with GM, they will then squeeze around £20 out of u, then maybe an hour later they will call u with the code for your unit. :D

Cheers mate, found my code about an hour ago and managed to get it up and running so saved the money vx would have charged, noticed a bloody flat tyre though
