SKODA FABIA VR6 1.9TDI VS ASTRA COUP 2.2

TOOK A MATES SKODA FABIA 1.9 TDI VR6 FOR A GOOD SPIN THE THER DAY AND IVE BEEN LEFT WITH A SMILE ON MY FACE THE REASON FOR IT IS MY COUPE WOULD p**s ALL OVER IT AND I REALISES MY CAR WASNT SO SLOW AFTER ALL. THIS IS MENT TO BE THE SAME ENGINE AS FOUND IN THE GULF AND AUDI WITH A 6 SPEED GEAR BOX. THE OWNER TOLD ME HOW QUCK IT WAS AND COULDNT WAIT TO HAVE A SPIN. WHEN I GAVE IT BACK I TOLD HIM IT WAS A LOAD OF s**t AND SUDENLY MY COUPE SEEMED SO MUCH MORE POWERFULL showo..

I agree, my mate had one when they first came out, proper ranted about it..... a bike rider too!!!!

diesels can be quick, but not all of them :roll:

my mate has a vw bora that has been remapped to 180bhp and it is seriously rapid(for a diesel) as vocky said all they need is a tunning box and the 2.2 wouldnt feel that quick anymore!!!

but at the end off the day it is a diesel

I am very weiry coming along side anything turbo diesel, it aint the bhp its the grunt! Been severely embarrassed quite a few times add to that more traction.

Nothing like a turbo having had a petrol V6 Ford Cologne conversion with massive Garret bolted on before the Veccy the diesels are getting there once a simple rework has been done.
I wouldnt want to put my 2.2 up against a mates Audi A3 with around 138bhp but a lot more torque.

Think next motor will be a diesel rallygif

a tdi vr6 doesnt even exist as far as i know :s


vr6 is a 2.8 v6 petrol engine and all normal vag tdi's are 1.9 except for the new 2.0

not counting the 2.5 and 3.0 and higher tdi stuff of course



but i could be wrong

my 1.9 cdti has the 'box' 8)
