I am summoning the courage to do my timing and balance chains and thought it would be a good idea to get hold of a scrap engine to rehearse on.

Close to Dartford would be good but can have it picked up on pallet.

no practice required
if you have ever done a cam belt you will do the chains easy plenty of info on the fourm
or you could get the job done cheap

My only experience with engines is oil changes and I took apart a wrecked bmw straight 6.

vocky did the chain on my other vx but I want to get my hands dirty this time

Ah, now I just need to learn German.

Fortunately, I found an American version:

In summary:

1. Remove engine covers
2. Change the timing chain
3. Turn camera on fat wife
