Possible Exhaust Change

Hi Peeps,

There is a possibility of changing to another exhaust as this one is simply too loud with the decat, I am sure its all be said before about the diameter sizes etc, but whats best for what?

I think i have heard that the 2.25" piping is better low down torque and the 2.5" is for more torque higher up.

I wanted a milltek resonated cat back system but its only for a turbo coupe and its 2.5". It would still fit I am sure.

But then I have seen the cobra sport resonated system, for the 2.2 coupe but this is 2"

I am currently running a Piper cat back system, which came with the car 3 years ago but unfortunately this is a hatchback model and sits just short of the bumper.

the 2.5 will be a little deep, ideally the 2.25 would be best.

But if you fit a 4-1 exhaust manifold and some cams the 2.5 will be good

Well I do plan on doing the manifold at some point and cams, then maybe supercharger after that. But we are talking maybe a year or two down the line for supercharging.

What would happen if I was to fit the 2.5 until manifold and cams?

Milltek replied to an email saying they will not create a 2.25" system, I replied saying thats a shame, there are loads of 2.2 owners who would like a 2.25" system so you would be missing out on more of the market.

Cobra replied back with a quote of £365 for a custom system to be fitted in Sheffield!

Cobra do make some very good systems (they are only 5 minutes from my work)
