The pipercross filter needs oil to work properly. There should be a spray tin which came with the kit (I got one with my induction kit on my old car, and the panel filter for the one I have now). It does leave a film on what ever surface it touches, so nothing to worry about.

To be honest, between the pipercross and the K&N, it's down to personal choice. I've always used Pipercross, and other people will have always used K&N

i've had both over the last few years and its just down to personnel choice. pipercross is louder than k n, not sure about power figure's though
