It's a Netgear GS205

Very dinky and lot nicer than my older GS605, and a bargain at £16.49!

It is a little dinky one.
Yea, it's a lot smaller than I was expecting. I've put that one on the desk now, and will be moving the GS605 downstairs when I move the NAS. Just need my cables to turn up so I can run them through the floor

I've already got the hole in the wall from upstairs to downstairs, as there is a hole where the TV aerial was ran through.

Wanted to keep this inside, and I'm going to be putting the NAS under the stairs with it's own switch.

ooh

he is going underground

mine is secret porn stash :p
I've got to move the NAS because it's so bloody noisy, and we don't want to have it in our room when I moved the desk out of the spare room. I tried it in the living room, but it's louder than the TV when it's seeking

That's an option I've got in the future. The drives are swappable, and the RAID will auto rebuild onto the new drives (can also put larger drives in it)

Just finished moving all the cables and the NAS around.

It's now on a shelf under the stairs, with a switch connecting it to the living room switch. I've also managed to lift a floorboard, and have gone through the ceiling to run the cable to the upstairs. Everything is working.......which is a nice surprise!
