Amy has bought me a new GPS watch for my Birthday. She's let me have it a few days early as I'm doing a 10KM race on my Birthday, so I can make sure it's all working and set up properly.
I've had the Garmin 205 for nearly 2 years, and while it's been excellent, it's one of the oldest models available. The audio notifications have also stopped working (I think the speaker has got full of sweat over time).
So, the 610 is the top of the range Forerunner model, and I've gone for the heart rate monitor also (something not available on the 205).
It's going to take some getting used to, with it being a touch screen, but so far, seems really straight forward, and I can't wait to go out later on this morning with it for the first time.
It's gets really good reviews on Wiggle and various other sport equipment sites.
