I've been happy with my uprated sport clutch from Courtenay. The standard Vx clutch is very good too.

There's a question. I didn't ask, doh! Its listed on the Courtenay website including cover plate for £195.

im in the process of deciding which one too. was looking at getting a lightened flywheel too (while the gear box is out) but would it be ok to use a standard clutch or best to use an uprated one?

would i even notice the difference between a standard one and an uprated clutch on my pretty standard engine?

cheers

if i was to get the uprated clutch, then i was gonna get the slave from courtney too.

but would i really notice much improvement though? does the lightened flywheel work as well with standard clutch?

my mate used the courtenay one and he found it worse than the standard one on his gsi he said at least the standard one could hack his 250bhp but there one could not.

the standard clutch can handle 250 bhp easily, so why fit an uprated version notsure.gif

After a bit of researching thats what i have found out too, but if i give mine a good serving 3/4 times i have to look out that it dose'nt start slipping.[my tires might not be helping as they are 225x35x18 pretty sticky to] So while i got the eng out to do the balance shaft mod i looked at the clucth it only had about 2.0mm of wear but looked slighty glazed so i had it machined today . For the past week i have been modding the std flywheel to lighten it  [got it down to 8.4 kg's weighed about 10kg's on the bath room scales] , droped it off on the way to work this morning yo have lathe/balancing work done now down to 7.8kg's. drool.gif dunno.. if any body want's to know what i did i take pic's of all the mod's i do (y)
