Fault codes.

EML is on so read the codes using op-com, Does this mean a new lamba sensor needed? I believe there is 2 on the engine so how would I know which was the correct one to change?

i think the clue is in bank 1 sensor 2 lol

bank 0 or 1 is usually the mixture sensor [pre cat]

as yours says sensor 2 i believe that to be post cat

it is not vital you replace it though

My mechanical knowledge is pretty low so it saying bank 1 doesnt mean a thing too me sorry.

Could I ask why it wouldn't be vital for me to replace this, the reason I ask is I have a very slight idle problem, where when you rev the car from idle, it drops slightly then revs, as if it's about too drop too stall but then sorts itself out, I thought the cause for the EML being on would have also been the cause for this, but now with you saying it isnt vital for me to change this is making me think if this would actually make the engine behave this way.

Thanks for your reply

hmm as yours is a vectra C then it might well be worth replacing the post cat lambda then seee how you get on

the hunting at idle is not uncommon on this engine in the vectra c
