Courtenay Poly Engine Mount

Just ordered the Courtenay Sport poly engine mount, as the VXR engine rocks back and forth quite a bit.

Not bad for £24 delivered

Mounts have turned up this morning

They are quite a bit softer than I thought they were going to be, so looking forward to getting them in on Wednesday.

can u rock the engine back and fourth ?

cos on the 2.2's you could always get a fair bit of movement the closer you got the gearbox

Have started the car, and there is a lot less movement when cranking the engine, and when you blip the throttle in neutral, the engine only moves back a small amount now.

Will take it for a proper drive tonight when I fetch the wife.

Have been for a couple of drives, and it's made a big difference. Gear change is really smooth, and there is no extra vibrations coming through the cabin.

Yeah, everyone I spoke to at work said they'd give me 3 months before it rattles my teeth out, but you can only tell them improvement.

Are they fekkin mad?? Its funny that you mention the gear change. That was the very first thing I noticed when I adapted the mount to fit on my engine. I don't see how anyone can think that it would cause harshness throughout the car??

I know, unless they just whack a rock hard one on theirs?

You can now get uprated front and rear ones for the VXR, but they are £90 each, but you can choose between road and track. I guess most that people fit are designed for track use.

Also, some VXR drivers seem to be able to melt their Courtenay one with the heat from the exhaust!

but, their exhaust sits silly close to the engine mount

and of course, it's the fault of the engine mount for not being good enough!

How is the mtg peforming matt?.....may invest in a pair for both coupes.....
Really good Daz. Neil had a drive yesterday, and couldn't feel any difference in vibrations, but the gear change is a lot smoother now, and the engine movement is reduced quite a lot.
