Air con and radiator fan not working

hi, ive just noticed that my radiator fan isnt kicking in at all, had to resort to putting blowers on scalding 2day when i was stood so i didnt melt my engine! I've also noticed that my air con isnt working either, the light comes on the switch but theres no noise when you press it, and the revs dont change either.
Just a coinsidence they both dont work or not?? I had a quick check of all the fuses but couldnt see any broken 1s, is there a relay which controls them both i could check??
Thanks

radiator fan is controlled by coolant temp sensor & rad switch

on back of head right hand side on thermostat housing you should seen a 2 pin sensor plug, unplug that and your rad fan should kick in straight away near enough

if it doesnt then it sounds more fuse / relay related

The aircon not working is a sign that there is a fault in the system somewhere. Maybe needs re-gassing or there could be another problem? Contact a specialist for aircon issues.

I had the very same problem over 12 months ago. I never got to the bottom of the problem. When I had the SC done I ended up having a new aircon pump as part of the conversion and it all works okay now so it could possibly be your pump in the worst case?

rite i give everything a check, including all the fuses and they seemed fine, i checked the relays too to see if any of the pins where blackened. I also pulled the 2 pin connector plug off and the fan didnt kick in so i put a link across it and the temp gauge showed max temp and the fan didnt kick in either. I think the only thing left is to test the fan directly from the battery and see if it works. Are the fans themselves interchangable with mine say between a 2.0 or 1.8 or are the fans different for the different engine sizes?

I was looking around the aircon aswell and when i moved the pipe a little bit i heard a bit of gas come out so i think on the air con side ive got a leak on 1 of the joints. Its the pipe right at the back of the engine where its held on by a bracket

Check the earths are intact just below the battery, had a look at mine today and they had corroded off, I ended up replacing the loom as I had one spare. Haven't had time to test mine yet.

Ive never noticed my fan not working, it never seems to get that hot, but the air con has never worked.
Their both on the same loom, it plugs in under the battery and runs around the radiator.

hi peeps ive also got the same problem with my fan running all the time
first the warning light would flicker on and off but now it stays on all the time and my rad fan is running all the time even when the engine is turned off and the ignition key removed i had to disconnect the radfan B4 leaving the car anywhere as i didn't want a flat battery it got a bit of a pain in the arse having to do this every time i went out in the car i was told by 1 of the tech guys at work to check the coolant control module as they suffer from water ingress due to there poor location i did this and found that it was full of water i dried it out re-connected it and the light has gone out but does not come on with the ignition anymore and go out when the engine is started so i don't know if the cooling fan will kick in when the engine is hot and sitting in traffic so it looks like i will be shelling out for a new coolant module BAD TIMES
