the leds in the window switches are small amber SMD leds
i have changed mine to white..
Tools Needed
Drivers Side
1. to remove the switch just use a small screw driver at bottom and then it just pulls out
2. the wiring plug is a push tab and pull out simple
3.again with a small screw driver prize the bottom edge of switch case to open both side will need releasing
4.i used a utility knife and soldering iron to remove the original smd's
5.rite this is the extremely tricky bit because of the size of the smd leds in pic you can see the size of the amber leds on the tape and the new smds in the black sleeve the problem is there is to ways for the leds to go i marked 1 side of the smds with a marker so if the were the wrong way round and did not work i knew which side was witch also i had to hold the smds in place while soldering cause they kept sticking to the soldering iron a cocktail stick would work ..
6. here is the difference in light with the cover off
7. installation is just put the outer cover back on the right way plug in and your done... hop this help those willing to do this lol....
Passenger Side
1.so remove the switch the same as the one above
2.use the small screw driver to pop the switch apart like so
the switch rocker has a spring and pin be sure to keep the safe
3.so the switch has the normal style LED but i changed it to the SMD type because the the switch is one piece the easiest option was to destroy the original LED and just put the SMD on the wires sticking up
4.i used some nail cutters to break the LED to reveal the pins
5.then i just soldered the SMD LED to the end of the pins ,with a small screw driver with some grease on to hold the SMD in place while i soldered it
6.as long as the LED is the right way round and works that's it be sure to test the switch's before putting the back together ...
