BMC CDA filter / DBilas intake ??

Hi all,

I am considering changing my inlet setup to use either the BMC filter or just having the DBilas one. I just want to be able to get the most out of the engine for when it goes to Thorney.

Can anyone recommend either? I am just looking for something better than the setup I have at the moment which is a K&N panel filter with the cover in the airbox removed.

Any advice welcome. The car is a Vec-C.

i wouldnt go with bmc as the 2.2 flow is wrong...

the dbilas is good but not worth £270

i have a dbilas intake on my standard air box thats been de-restricted and has a k n n panel filter init, i have noticed a lill diff with this setup does go well.. and will be better when i get the vectra c tb pipe.

all the dbilas is, is a box with a panel filter init

you won't gain much by changing it, but the dbilas is a good design, especially as the z22se air intake is awkward to say the least!

How do you guys rate the K&N Apollo? 70mm outlet, cone filter and totally sealed.

Fine thanks mate, still cutting out though every now and then, only when I am turning and slowing down though it seems? Hopefully the remap will sort it all out!

have you got the 2.4 mani fitted?

as im under the impression on a stock engine the cams would be ok with out a remap

Yes mate, 2.4 mani, 2.5" full system, DBilas 4-1 zorst mani, cams.

was thinking the same ones as you the usa spec ones.. as they are the cheapest

only if you dont get stung with C&E, otherwise piper are easiest and cheapest, i got some coupe cams here if you want to send them up to save you stripping the engine and waiting, you can then send me your old ones once swapped.

It was about £240 for the cams, and £65 for customs.

thats £305 if you did get stung with customs, just luck of the draw really, reall dodgy one to decide. Are the imported cams any better than piper do we know yet?

Might know soon when I get it on the rolling road for the remap
