If the car wash company your talking about is the three letter one, then I used to work for them.. ALL these sort of car washes scratch your car, even tho we where supposed to tell the punters otherwise if they asked. 1 million nylon bristles going round at 100mph, how could they not.. we used to use a nylon handbrush on a pole to scrub the front and windscreen to remove flies etc. We had a guy that used to bring his black jag in twice a week, and the paintwork was going as flat as a pancake with a zillion swirl marks.. as for big spoilers and rear wipers we where supposed to manually (with a button) lift the horizontal brush off the car when it got to the rear edge of the roof..
Car Wash = Scratches and swirls period. :-) Never use one if you value your motor..
