Cams never really come on song until 4k. My Schrick cams were the same. Around 3800rpm and it started to pull with heaps of torque right into 6500k.

mmmmmmmmm.... i just wondered because piper and others claim lower than that :S

what they mean when they quote 2-7k is that the engine will work ok between 2 -7 k rpm

if you had 3-8k cams below 3k is useless, you have to rev to 3k just to pull away

my cams kick in at 4k and power only stops at the limiter

if they only kick in at 4k would you say its a worth while mod then, only ask as i was under the impression that they would start from 3kish. i understand about the diffrent deg and they higher the deg the higher through the rev range they kick in

you want (probably) to keep below 4k mild so that you can cruise about or sit in a traffic jam, then when you want power it's ready and waiting for you at 4k rallygif

is there any diff below 4k as i dont think its right the manufactuer says works with 2.5k+

It depends what you are after mate, I am quite happy for mine to drive normally when I want to, which it does, but when I want the power, I push it that bit higher up the revs and it is all there for me.

I would say they are a definite mod to do if you are after some decent power figures.

If you want to know if I would spend the money and do the mod again, then yes I would.
