vocky which bits do you want notsure.gif AH-08-08 ~ bspp male x bspp male = 1 off Z -08 ~ gasket = 2 off (for above fitting) Q - 12 ~ gasket = 1 off (for oil filter housing to original fitting) WP-08-08 ~ bspp fixed female x bspp fixed female = 1 off
alanoo Well, only bits I found were the gaskets... a bit useless without all around so didn't ordered them 😃
vocky don't forget to fit the new extension before marking the hole, otherwise the sender could end up in the wrong position
dwarf Vocky do you know if pirtek sell a M12x1.75 to 1/2 bspp adapter as i've just broken my oil cooler adapter and it would save me from ordering 9198196 from vauxhall. I'll bet it's on back order and will take 3 months to come or something. Cheers Scotsdave from .org
dwarf Vauxhall want £50 +vat for it. It should take 10 days to arrive. Why did vauxhall use a crazy size for this take off?

dwarf The part number seems to have changed if you look on the epc. Looking at the diagram it looks like you have to buy the hose as one assembly doing away with the wierd fitting. I have a cunning plan anyway. I have an normal 1/2" bssp fitting to m12*1.5 fitting. I'm going to cut the 1.5 end off and get a m12 *1.75 bolt. Turn the bolt on a lathe and drill a hole down the centre of it. I'll then attach the new 1.75 thread to the fitting by either tapping out the center of the fitting and brazing it or by welding it on but i don't think the weld would adhere due to the quality of the metal. Does this sound feasible?
vocky why not drill and tap the broken adaptor to M12x1.75, cut the bolt to size, drill the centre, then threadlock the cut bolt into the modified adaptor dunno.. edit you said that didn't you
dwarf Yes i did . Glad you thought the same though, gives me confidence that it should work! Should I use ptfe tape on the bolt threads going in to the filter?
vocky there is the original seal (only a £1 or so from pirtek or £20 from vaux  ) which should seal the adaptor to the oil filter, thus no leaks from the threads cheers.. or use some ptfe tape cheers..
dwarf Cheers for that Vocky, Hopefully I'll get my fitting back tomorrow. Working for a college that teaches engineering has it's perks
