Thread revival (but better than starting a new one!).. A couple of questions:
1) Can the balancer shaft / water pump drive chain be removed without removing the timing chain? I was thinking if I remove both chain tensioners and unbolt the cam chain guide covering the inlet balancer shaft, it my provide just enough room to pull out the inlet side shaft...
2) For knocking in the block shaft bearings, do I need access in from underneath (sump removal) by any chance? Or is it just the shaft hole that needs to be available? I understand the rest of Vocky's guide 8)
I am thinking of attempting the removal during my stage 2 SC installation on my VX220. I'll already have quite a few items on the engine disconencted anyway, so I'm seriously considering lowering the engine sufficient to do this, although don't want to faff about withremoving the timing chain if I don't have to! :shifty:
