were all of the 8 valve guides you replaced on the inlet valves? notsure.gif
Since you had bent valves can't quite make out it pistons have been marked/dented ?notsure.gif
Yip, all 8 inlet valve guides were cracked. The exhaust side of the head escaped unharmed.
The pistons had a tiny ridge on them from valve contact but nothing major.
Presumably you put cracked guides down to bent valves? notsure.gif
Are you not worried that dented piston could mean distortion of oil scraper rings which would cause smoking? dunno..
My car suffering from smoking after head gasket replacement. Unfortunately, did not do work myself so have to accept that garage/mechanic was correct in telling me no valve damage. Left not knowing if car has failed valve stem oil seals or piston ring damage, although I suspect former.
