Hareng 😃 Could be worse you could have a Jap car then you'll know what hit you, me i wouldnt stoop so low. Rain, rain and rain, me Molyslip came but wont need it with the Amsoil, why settle for second best.
Hareng Well my oil has come, must have been held up in the floods. Some of the problems was me not pressing down the clutch enough. Wierd when engagement comes in at end of pedal travel but almost have to fully depress to change gear. Poss seating altered as well. Still get the hard to engage when cold suggesting a lower viscosity. Right i'm off in 10 mins to change the oil again.
Hareng Not very good pictures hope this helps in identifying the three oil plugs on the F23 gearbox in a Vectra B. 8mm allen key inserted into Filler Plug viewed from front of engine looking down. Egr valve to the left. Viewed from inside the wheel arch the Drain Plug is behind the sub frame and under the drive shaft- The shiny plug. Viewed from behind the front wheel arch underneath the car, a shortened to 23mm long 8mm allen key is inserted to clear the sub frame. Viewed from the front underneath the car looking to the rear. Viewed from rear of wheel arch underneath car Oil Level Plug is above driveshaft and subframe. Its on the vertical face facing towards the rear of car. Same position as above and not a good piccy.
Hareng Sorry for the dirt, its all that country lane driving with the recent land slides, floods etc. An update my gearbox has never been as good both in the summer morning cold and when hot. Never missed a gear since the last change and only the slightest notchiness going in to 1st. Time will tell only done 129 miles since change but think i get more mpg and a definate sense of smoothness as with most top spec oils. Moly G in tomorrow and compare.
