I do believe that its okay to TIG weld the pipe if you can find someone to do it. The chap who replaced my pipe advised me of this but I didn't know anyone who could do it for me.

I thought that epc wasn't comparible with Windows XP??

Thx vocky for the number but this one is not correct :-( in the meanwhile i downloaded the EPC and installed (it works also on XP). This Partnumber 9153602 (Katalogue No. 6850556) looks completly different. I was now in OPEL and they show me this Part. The mechanican ment that he cannot find the correct pipe for the engine and he has to ask OPEL manufacturer. He will give me a answer till end of the week. Has perhaps someone else changed also this pipe and can look on the invoice?
My pipe looks the same like the photo in this forum. Here the photo from my pipe:

I wanted to give only a last feedback what i done with my problem:

repaired the pipe (see picture) costs > 10 EUR (for coffee) 😃
buyed a new kiln in ebay costs > 29 EUR
replaced this kiln costs > rented a workshop for 2 hours > 20 EUR
filled in the refrigerant costs > 70 EUR

Total = 129,- EUR !!! Opel wanted for the same result 800,- EUR !!!

Thats the bracket the local VX dealer charged me for 4 years ago as they said it had broken. £150 thank you sir.
Now doing own repairs again, noticed they did not replace just codged it up.

it's totally missing :shock:

the bracket is for lifting the engine and is fitted to all the z22se engines 🙂

yes this is missing, i asked already the opel dealer for this and he will check because he dont know anything about this. Have someone from you the recall number or the partnumber from this thing? If they want money for this so i will make it myself.

Just fitted my new air con pipe !! What a nasty job tha was !! Just need to hope it doesnt leak !!! Will vauxhall fit the recall bracket if i take it to them ? Is it worht just making one to save the hassle ??

aircon charged but not working?????????

hi,
i have had my aircon recharged but it is not working.
i have checked and there is 14.4v going to it with the engine running. when i switch it on from the climate control panel the revs rise slightly and the fans runs up to blow the air through the cabin vents.
apart from that bugger all happens.
does any one on here have a scooby as to what i should check or look for.
i have a second hand compressor that i bought that was taken from a car that was rear ended and worked fine in the donor vehicle. is there something i am missing?.
i have had the car about three months and had to do a fair bit of work to it so far and if it keeps going like this i feel that it may be time to say goodby to it and get a new one with warranty. not a vx though and it will be a small diesel i think.
any help and/or tips would be greatly appreciated,

best bet would be get an aircon specialist to diagnose the problem, might be a split pipe and the coolant has leaked notsure.gif

aircon compressor that was not working replaced with the second hand one from car that had rear end shunt.
the lads at the garage still checked all wiring and relays to be sure and when the system was recharged i had climate again and just in time for the brief spell of hot weather that we had.
still going strong as we speak but the compressor runs slightly noisy, nothing that you would notice but you can just hear it from inside the car.
so well chufed and i still have the car.
last thing to sort out is it's liking for coolant. i have chucked in some radweld type stuff to tide me over but ultimetely i think that the head will be coming of within the mext couple of months to sort out,

I mentioned this before but i had the adapted bracket and that snapped notsure.gif

But was still in situ with a hairline crack so i poty rivited a piece of tuff metal across the effected area.. Seems grand now 😃
