Hi Neil.

I had one fitted to my Lotus Elise 20VT.
Very recommended! Really easy to use, and fully programmmable from a laptop via the serial port/USB port.
I had some emission problems at MOT time (running 1.4bar boost approx 340bhp) during idle with CAT back on so was able to lean off myself to get it through.
MOT tester didn't know what to do!

Karl at Emerald was also developing traction control with SW - should have it finished by now.

Download the software and play around.

it does take a bit of time to write the map :roll:

I'm basing mine on twin injectors and aiming for 230 bhp power figure 🙂

still a few hours to go, but it seems to get easier the more I use the programme.

It really is very easy to use once you have a base map installed.
You may be able to get one from somebody who has gone down this path.
I have several base maps for 20VT's pm if you want one.

Why are you using twin injector set up? This sounds complicated :shock:

Check on the website for different versions as Karl is making changes all the time to the SW. Last version has the ability to offer three switchable maps - so very useful for me. 340bhp (1.5bar) for me, 200 bhp (0.8bar) for the missus and 0bar when it was at the garage 😃

I'm thinking of using twin injectors because I want to keep the originals [in the head] for low end power and then switch over to bigger injectors [pointing directly into the throttle bodies] for maximum power 🙂

I've finished writing the 'rough' base map, still needs some adjustment :roll:

decided against twin injectors because it's easier to write the map for singles :lol: plus I've bought some bigger injectors 8)

my plan is to fit the emerald with my 68mm inlet manifold + tb and new injectors, then fit some lotus turbo itb's at a later date and retain the new injectors still fitted into the head 🙂

not sure whether I will keep fly-by-wire or use the lotus cable throttle system dunno..

worked out my new injectors are the perfect size for the power I'm aiming at 😃

68mm throttle body is good for 266 bhp

58mm tb is good for 193 bhp

I might not need itb's after all :shock:

This sounds very cool! 😃 If it is relativly easy to put an emerald on a z22se all kinds of things are possible 🙂 If you're not going above 7000rpm you'll probably don't need individual throttle bodies. Would be really cool to know what your enigine would do with an emerald. Would personally expect way beyond 200bhp. If you can get it to deliver 210Nm at 6700 rpm you'll allready be at 200bhp. Guessing that should be possible with your setup.

I use the theory 10 bhp per 100cc, so a 2200cc engine should produce 220 bhp 🙂

I am aiming for 210-220 bhp, the 2.0 sc engine has 310cc injectors which are rated at 201 bhp [according to the site mentioned above] standard z22se injectors are 252cc and rated at 164 bhp.

the limiting factor on a z22se is the ecu, an Emerald ecu would be able to provide the extra fuelling required to reach my goal 🙂

Looks very interesting I will need one for the next stage of developement. £580+vat seems pretty good I wonder if anyone has one running on as S/c car? and what their setup is

In France we have a specialist that just begins fitting a kit with a larger TB (still DBW), a standalone ECU (the sybele challenger 4+ i already mentionned _1000€ and DBW ready), regrooved cams, some head work... and that's all !

Result, 180hp with stock exhaust !
Unfortunately, the kit isn't commercialy available yet, it should be in september

you could get one fitted and set up at their factory in Norfolk by Dave Walker himself 🙂
