The corsa will accept the bigger engine and power a little better handling wise due to the the wider track of the car compared to the old nova.
I did carry out all the work on this car, apart from the paint job and the engine modifications due to me not having the correct equipment and tools. But otherwise built the engine, car, welded it and much more. From the front door to the front its fully seam welded with strengthing plates and a custom half cage in the rear which is welded in too.
The hatch has a large following, cos of the street cred, the saloon/'coupe' being classed as a grandads car. Ive had it since 2001 and was in the family since 1998, ive always been at the forefront of jokes, piss takes the lot with this car, so it was time to show 'em. Ive done it out principle, a big two fingered salute ( www.saloony.co.uk tells a bigger story, havent been updated in a while).
I would never do a turbo version as, believe it or not i dont like turbo power, my previous car shows that, V6 cavalier, hence why i bought the 2.2 and done this nova like i have. As it stands to control its hard, the torque steer is massive, so turbo would be totally stupid and unpredictable in corners.
This my opinion only but i favour saloons/coupes over hatches any day of the week, for starters they cut out alot of the road noise generated by the rear wheels and have the extra strength in the rear of the body for better handling.
And shall be fitting electronic power steering to it too very shortly, from a corsa b, with manual over-ride so i can adjust the power setting as i go.
Christ, i go on a bit, 😃 Next post is a pic of my engine bay.
