chain work needed ... ??

is there an actual 100% way of finding out if you have the updated chain and oil jet etc without taking anything apart ?

my car is a 02 plate astra coupe

i have this letter from vaux tho i got it when i first got the car i was worried

how much of a cover by vauxhall is this if it did snap ?

Umm they also told me on the phone that mine wasnt due a recall @ first!! But when i looked into it i found out that it was..

Not really sure what to suggest mate?? Im getting mine done this weekend by benny .. So that will be a relief when i do 🙂

all engines bellow the number stated have a problem but as vx say were not part of any recall ........if it did break you would need full dealer service history and to have had a love afair with the service manager to even get a sniff of a contribution lol ...........

yeah i have pmed him. like i told him the car is only on 30k and no noise as yet .. but its allways a worrie in the back of my mind 🙁

Everyone says how good benny is so i think we are very lucky to have someone willing to sort this common problem out 🙂

My SRI 150 had done 93k with the defective parts and never rattled. Its not a given that it will snap, but there is always a chance.

Benny did my chain for me and i had it done purely for piece of mind. Best 250 notes i ever spent on the car

Mine had done 120k with the smaller oil jet fitted and never rattled once but had the chains changed anyway for peace of mind. when it was stripped there was plenty of oil on the chain and surrounding area.

well i do change my oil every 6k with propper GM stuff .. will defantly get the chain done tho when i have some cash , im usualy ok but everytime i log onto this site lol i get very worried lol

when i checked the log book the engine number started with 54..... not 110,

If your engine has been serviced regulary and properly, it reduces the chance of the hole clogging up. i think that what was happening with the smaller jets on the older engines.

ALL vectra B's are affected 🙁

Plus my vec sri engine number is a few hundred above yours and that had the early chain kit :cry:
