Matt Washed and polished the car again today. I'm a lot more enthusiastic since Si sorted my paint work out the other week, so quite happy to keep on top of cleaning it. Before: Washed: Polished: Waxed: I also decided to give the engine a wipe over: I washed the car using the 2 bucket method, and used Meguiars NXT Car Wash shampoo: and dried it off with the Meguiars Water Magnet Drying Towel: This is absolutely fantastic, and soooo much better than a leather chamois. I didn't use the first step of the Meguiars 3 stage, as the paint didn't need cleaning, as you can see in the above pictures, it's still in a decent condition since Si worked his magic. I then used STEP 2 – Deep Crystal Polish and STEP 3 - Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax, I love the smell of the polish and the Carnauba wax. This was all applied with a separate applicator pad for each polish/wax: and then buffed of with a Supreme Shine Microfibre towel The wheels were then treated with Turtle Wax NanoTech Alloy Wheel Wax, and the rubber dressed with some Silicone solution, but I can't remember the name of the actual product.
Sjdickso Great work matt, didnt look too bad before it was washed but the reflection shots afterwards are fantastic really like this photo. Nice selection of products used too.

Cheers Si, I think I've figured out what is was that was causing all the swirling in the paint......the chamoise. The new Megs Water Magnet towel is bloody superb, and I'll never use anything else to dry the car with. I took advantage of the 3 for 2 offer at Halfords for the new towel, stage 2 polish, and the wheel wax, and also got another bucket and some more megs application pads.

Sjdickso Glad you took advantage of the 3 for 2. Glad you ditched the chamoise leather. Just make sure you keep the water magnet clean.
Sjdickso Two bucket method reduces the risk of inducing swirls. You have one bucket with wash solution in and another with clean water in. wash quarter of a pannel of your car, then rinse your Mitt out in the clean water and then dunk in the bucket that contains wash solution. Idea is if you have any grit on your mitt ect it comes off in the clean water bucket so you minimise the risk of putting sharp dirt particules acoss your car inducng the nasty swirl marks.
