Europa_Blue_SE1 Excellent Vocky cheers mate as I said the car goes in on Thursday so I'll let yous guys know how I get on that is just like what he showed me fitted onto a Scooby as both them and the Evo have the same problem and this is the way he remodies it just wish he'd fitted it in the first place and then after my mechanic telling me what should REALLY be done I wasn't sure about having it done as the company had offered to do this when I went to him at first but till finances are allowing as I wan't well need new brakes and wheels & tyres first I'll be getting this done π As I said I'll let you guys know how I get on and if he has this part to sell me a couple if you guys want? cheers.. Alan
Europa_Blue_SE1 Looks like an easy job π But if that's what he's gonna do anyway saves me timeπ Think this is the route to go down as you said no ECU lights on thumbup Would Halfords or mibbe another better car accesory shop sell the spacers? I'd of thought they would? So Vocky do you want me to find out what it is he uses and take a pic etc what kinda car is it you drive I know it sounds a stupid question with your username but just making sure mate cheers..
JohnnyN It would be great to see if you can get these parts off of your mechanic. If you can then i'll have one. I have sent an email to the American chap on ebay but haven't got a reply yet. The Scooby and Evo problem has been mentioned before by another member on here so that all seems to come together as the key problem. ;-)
Europa_Blue_SE1 Yea Johnny looks like the location of the second lamba is the problem mate and as far as getting the part from America I wouldn't even bother as by Thursday night I'll either have them for you and Vocky if he wants one or at least have found out exactly what it is and where you guys can source it but I don't really see any problem with Campbell selling me a couple of them as no doubt he'll have quite a few sitting so if he will sell me a couple one has your name on it mate...
furn i dont understand why you have to drive carefully after disconnecting the battery ? My brother had a scooby and found out from a forum that by blanking the ecu (by disconnecting the battery) then going out out and caining the bollocks off it that the ecu would learn new parameters and the car runs at higher performance , surely driving steady the ecu will set itself up for economy.
Europa_Blue_SE1 Don't have a clue Johnny doesn't look like he's on site mate... But to be honests I was kind of thinking that and if it is then I will be disconnecting the battery again as it's obviussly the performance I want π
vocky the z22se ecu needs to learn it's parameters during moderate driving, I have no idea why notsure.gif I've tried the 'thrash it from reset' method, BUT the 'take it easy for 30 miles' gives the best results showo..
vocky The only reason I want the spacer(s) is just in case my vx220 has a problem with the sports cat dunno..
Europa_Blue_SE1 Yep Vocky! Took the battery off last night at about 11:30pm left it off for a good 20mins took the car out a good 50mile drive was gonna but didn't rag it but did take it over 50mph but gradually I live close to (about 10mins from) a motorway so took her to the motorway taking it easy not going above 3,000rpm got onto the motorway and for about 10miles it's a 50mph zone so took it easy sitting at 50 then gradually worked my way up to 70mph felt brilliant took her a good drive on the motorway then took a cut off and turned round and headed home after about 30miles... Then started to rag it π loved it felt better than she has in a long time then a 323ci BMW came up beside me I floored it and bye.gif (felt good hehe) showo.. And the light is still off 8) so hopefully it'll stay off for a while longer this time just till Thursday! I'll pick you and Johnny one of these spacers up Vocky I take it your light is off then by the way you are talking? cheers.. Alan
vocky works well taking it easy for a bit π I've not driven my vx220 since the engine rebuild and new exhaust, so don't know if the ecu will be happy or not notsure.gif
Europa_Blue_SE1 Yea Vocky can't thank you and Johnny enough for all the help mate loving the site... cheers.. As I said on Thursday I'll pick you and Johnny up one of those spacers I don't imagine he'll have a problem with selling me a couple of them as he'll no doubt have plenty lying around... You got a pic of you VX220 as I love them drool.gif What do you use as a daily driver if your VX is off the road? That's my light back on again π can't wait till Thursday to get this mod done hopefully it'll cure the problem! everytime I start ragging it (on private roads of coarse) LOL it seems to come back on the gasses are passing it far to quick! What all did you have done to your VX220 and what kind of Exhaust System did you get fitted? Hope everythings alright when you do take it out mate cheers.. Alan
Europa_Blue_SE1 Just back from getting the lamba sensor raised so hopefully that's it done and the light will stay off Johnny and Vocky I asked about the spacers he uses and he said he'd sell me a couple no bother so I picked yous up a couple they need to be welded on but I take it that's not a problem dunno.. If yous want to pm me your addresses I'll send yous them down in an envelope they were only a few quid guys so I'll just stick a 1st class stamp on an evelope and send them down as soon as I get your addresses cheers..
