baldie87 with that alphine head unit are you able to plug a usb pen drive into it and view and control your music files via the headunit notsure.gif
Matt Not this Alpine one I don't think. Most of the other IPOD head units function like that though, and just work off the USB drive in the back.
Hareng All Alpine head units from 2004/2005/2006/2007 Ai-NET and MMS are compatible as long as its MP3. Other stuff is ignored. Need KCA-620M http://www.alpine-europe.com/index.php? ... onnections As a very rough guide you can get 157 songs on a 650mg cd, 4Gb hard drive around a thousand- Finding what you want will be a pain, its bad enough directly searching on a cd yet alone a dvd.
Matt Oh cool, so the cable for the IPOD is just a standard USB one then which goes into the back of the HU?
Hareng Sure it uses the AI Net cable to link the two http://www.alpine-europe.com/index.php? ... atalog_pi1[show]=relatedproducts#ridercontent Separate box so cable or Ainet cable to KCA620M and a USB from that to hard drive or whatever. Will only play MP3 format good sound quality even from 128kb/sec. Yep you can now use Windows Media Player WMA with artist, song and album scrolling in MP3. http://www.alpine-europe.com/index.php? ... atalog_pi1[show]=productinformation#ridercontent Just in case you run out of inputs you can get KCA-410C to add three more AI Net capable goodies, cd, dvd, camera, etc http://www.alpine-europe.com/index.php?id=kca-410c Bluetooth http://www.alpine-europe.com/index.php? ... 00bt0&L=16 http://www.alpine-europe.com/index.php? ... 200bt&L=16 Ipod to a head unit http://www.alpine-europe.com/index.php?id=kca-420i Ipod to full speed head unit http://www.alpine-europe.com/index.php?id=kce-422i&L=16 http://www.alpine-europe.com/index.php? ... _solutions
baldie87 i was just asking becuase i would like a buy a hhd for my car that is just powered by usb, but wanted a head unit that could control this, as alot of ppl i also am sick of cd's
Matt I've thrown all my CD-R's out of the car this afternoon, in preperation for the new head unit. The glove box is now empty
guy_27 i got the same h/u as what your looking at getting in my car. you wont be dissapointed. I just could not get hold of the adapter for the controls so i mounted the hu in the bottom of the console so i can change tracks or volume with my hand on the gear stick and i installed a remote in the middle arm rest in the back so people in the back can control it aswell if required.
