no i appreciate the advice, im kinda leaning towards the GSi now for that very reason, although i realise the running costs are going to be considerably higher. I was very sceptical about these tuning boxes having come from a petrol background, but they really do work and £200 for 50bhp is pretty impressive lol, but then stage 2 for the CDTi is in excess of 2.5k and that takes it to just under 240bhp. I can get close to that for £450 with a GSi.
It will be nice to get back to petrol though, diesels are getting better and better but theyre not QUITE there IMO
