i got stuck at the inlet side with the security bolt i have to drill out of the ecu, need to to take those out before i can get the loom out and a couple of bolts, once all thats out it should be fairly easy to remove, whole engine will need removing for overhaul anyway, and the pistons will need replacing too

not sure what you mean about the 'security bolt' on the ecu, on my vec it's held on with 4 x 10mm bolts direct to the inlet manifold and it appears to be in the same place on my vx dunno..

I will have a look at my vx220 ecu later notsure.gif

on mine ive got 1 security torx bolt + one security rivet bolt
before i can remove the ecu

had a look, there's a security star bolt AND a shear bolt :shock:

your ecu appears to just have a L shaped bracket being held on with the shear bolt, mine has a section of alloy - held on by both the security star and shear bolts
my vec has no bracket (s) at all notsure.gif

nah thats a stock pic i found, its a turbo one, im stuck at my desk at work at the mo! but yeah socket cap bolts for me too!
