Matt vocky said: I had just got back from a two hour drive and thought I would take a quick pic on my phone 😃 And that was the second day in a row I had a two hour drive in my vx  @[deleted] That must be almost the annual mileage covered 😉
vocky I reset the tracking with my Tecalemit tracking gauges on Thursday and so went out again on Friday to check how it handled. So three two hour drives in five days  It's amazing the difference in handling once the tracking has been set correctly on a vx220, last time I set it up was with the Europa wheels and Sachs suspension. Having the tracking gauges made it so much easier 😃
Dave_Gilbert I used to like doing 4 wheel alignment on the evo rally cars(I did my mechanics apprenticeship building evos for the evo challenge) We used to have abit of tow in on the front and abit of camber on the back. Made so much difference for sitting in the ruts in the forrests. I need to get mine tracked up soon.
vocky well this winters project is going to be quite a milestone in my vx220's life, some major work is planned and it will be happening shortly :censored:
chill vocky said: still looking good after eight years 🙂 [ATTACH=full]58538[/ATTACH] Must do more miles
evocarlos Dave Gilbert said: Its only done about 30 miles since it was cleaned 8years ago ant it? Hahaha i heard he once pushed it out the garage but then soon after pushed it back in 🙂
corsaZ22se the dust cover came off when I visited to collect some wheels, only so I could see the engine. 🙂 I know I don't do many miles in my cars but this must be one of the lowest mileage cars on here?
evocarlos poped over to see @[deleted] last night we had a real good natter 🙂 the vx is as immaculate as the pictures show 🙂 he did see a bit of a shim out of alignment hehe it was not many seconds till it was sorted 🙂 and its good to finally meet you neil and thanks for the parts 🙂
vocky so today I replaced the door check strap thingys o_O the realigned shim, fecking Lotus build quality  old and new parts and fitted, along with new upper grommets, nothing wrong with the old ones, but they were cheap 🙂
vocky I also painted the alarm siren mounting bracket and fitted some new stainless nuts, bolts and washers
vocky I have fitted a stainless steel front towing bracket to replace the rusty original, will get a picture next time I do some more work on my vx.
evocarlos @[deleted] could you run the elec pump with the standard thermostat installed and retain the factory heater matrix ?
vocky evocarlos said: @[deleted] could you run the elec pump with the standard thermostat installed and retain the factory heater matrix ? if you could fit it between the thermostat housing and water pump, then yes. However in reality the exhaust manifold sits over that alloy pipe, so you would need to plumb in new sections to allow the pump to sit somewhere else.
