right here's some pic's and the story so far 😃
I bought the bottom end off a guy on vvoc, he had replaced the head gasket and fitted a brand new timing chain, but the very next day realised the head was cracked, so he decided to go z20let :shock:
The timing chain cover has the oil pump built in, I've already stripped and inspected the oil pump, no damage, a few small marks but that's to be expected (any gouges means replacement), so that was reassembled
then the brand new timing chain was removed, this will get re-used 🙂
next the water pump/ balancer shaft chain was removed, this was the original chain.
next the bolts were removed from the chain cogs
then the cogs and balancer shafts were removed
