Not had too bad a weekend although a little expensive. Went to London to see our new niece. That was great. Had a blow out just outside of London on the M4 on the way home. I had an idea something wasn't quite right with the front end so I was on alert anyway. The front NS was banging like mad each time that I caught a cat eye when switching between lanes. Then the steering started pulling to one side and eventually the steering went bonkers! I touched the brakes and shot from the middle lane into the outside and then back across to the inside lane then came to rest in the hard shoulder at the start of a slip road. The tyre was shredded around the outer/inner wall.
10:30pm and the kids were out of the car on the other side of the barriers shivering. First time blow out and tyre change on a motorway was a little scary. I was amazed at how much the car was shaking about whilst on the jack each time a car or especially a lorry went past. Anyway, space saver fitted and we were away again but this time at a much reduced rate of knots. The car doesn't behave very well with a skinny tyre on.
Got up this morning and got a new tyre fitted. What bugged me was that i'd only had that tyre fitted a few months ago. So, another tyre fitted and home to clean the car. I also had a play with the headunit today. The rear speakers have never worked correctly since we bought the car back last September so I had a look. Quite a simple fix by way of pushing the ISO block in a little further to make better contact. A simple fix that also revealed an absolute gem of a suprise. There's a sub in the boot!! Its hiding behind the carpet in the rear wheel arch compartment. That made my day!
