Vectra2_2sri16vPete cheer's Rob much appreciated mate, took a day off from it today and got interview tomorrow at lunchtime and going to spend Friday looking for work so will be back at the car Saturday
Vectra2_2sri16vPete If I buy the z22yh bottom end http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221729761173?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D221729761173%26_rdc%3D1 will my gearbox off my z22se fit onto the z22yh or would i be better off putting these in z22se bottom end http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271859072910?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D271859072910%26_rdc%3D1
vocky you cannot use the z22yh crank because it has a different trigger wheel to the z22se, but you can use the pistons and rods (y)
Vectra2_2sri16vPete Sorry I haven't been online for the past week but the other half was taken into hospital, she's home now and awaiting results from loads of test but at least I can carry on with the car where I left off. Managed to get some cash together (£300) so I'm just £100 away from ordering this and hopefully solving a lot of My car problems in 1 purchase http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271872666028?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D271872666028%26_rdc%3D1
Dave_Gilbert I think thats the best option. does it come with any chain kits? Balance chain could be fitted without the head being on so hope thats on from the factory. EDIT... just seen theres no chains in the pictures. but defo a good starting point
Vectra2_2sri16vPete I'm going to ask them if I can pay £300 on Tuesday as a deposit then the other £100 on the 3rd of next month because I know I will have £100 that day
Vectra2_2sri16vPete Ouch I didn't realise it was the last one, just My luck someone is going to hit the buy it now button before I can get this £300 in the bank on Tuesday............just checked and He has another but is wanting £395 for it. Just a thought but I'm thinking that things might be easier for Me as I'm a complete novice at this sort of stuff to put the head back on and fit the chains before I put the engine back in the car, or is that Me just having a stupid idea?
Dave_Gilbert No that makes perfect sence mate. also if you want to do a nice mod. do the balance shaft delete but i havnt done it myaelf. @[deleted] is the mod man
Dave_Gilbert Doing the chains on the bench will be so much easier, access is easier and lining the links up etc will be better. iv only taken 1 off so cant comment much on it but i think @[deleted] said he can do the chain kits in about half hour on the bench.

milo Dave Gilbert said: Fight fight fight fight........ :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Once brakes and exhaust upgraded I'll be getting the block sorted out.
Vectra2_2sri16vPete The company that supply the the block in the link I put up are from London and they do have over blocks exactly the same, well the only difference is a price hike of £45, I also came across a company in Germany that supplied the same block for the same price but where the postage from London is £50 the German's wanted the equivilent of £98 I think it was
milo Dave Gilbert said: Get a net/b207 Stronger oil squiters etc etc. Not really a z22se than😉. I'm not going for silly performance so the standard block will be fine, it just be forged piston/rods, cams and 2.8 pulley not be the fastest but will do me without spending silly money.
Vectra2_2sri16vPete Just to keep everyone up to date on how I'm doing, just incase everyone thought I had given up ........... I contacted the seller of the 2.2 Z22SE SHORT ENGINE (NEW + BLOCK PISTONS CRANK) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271872666028?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D271872666028%26_rdc%3D1&clk_rvr_id=838039291422&afsrc=1&rmvSB=true and they were kind enough to let Me make a part payment to reserve the item even though they have relisted it as they have more than 1 in stock. I have decided as money is My main obstacle due to still not being able to find employment (searching for work is a job in itself) that I am going to sell My wheels and also the huge amount of computer spares I have collected over the year's whilst repairing computers to raise some much needed cash to finish of buying parts needed.
Vectra2_2sri16vPete Spent Yesterday pottering around the front end of the car and decided to remove the piece in My previous post, a few broken drill bit's and a lovely self inflicted screw driver stab wound later and now the front of My car look's like this but I reckon it should make My life a little easier once the new block arrives.
