Building a Z22NES

Hey there,

heare is my actual project:

I got some parts to change some details on my supercharged Z20NET. Im planing to build a Z22NES.
I´ll use a 2.2 Crank & Rods in an Z20NET Engine. So heare are the first pictures from today. I worked onely 3 hours after work today but i think i have done a lot:

Done:
All parts removed from the engine (excludig the exhaust mainfold)
Let out the wather & oil
took apart the catalysator
removed the wiring
prepareed gearbox for the expansion

Tomorrow i will remove the axle and the engine :-)

I like it, im building a z22set or a z22se turbo lol.

Hey Dave

Jup you got it! The first engine was a Z22SES but i damaged the pistonrings (Sorry i dont know if this is the right word??)
Then i bought a Z20NET and transformed it to a Z20NES. And now i bought an eagle 2.2 crankshaft so im going to Z22NES :-)

Hi Matt,
thank you for your offer. That would be great!

Some News heare:

Day two: After 7 hours work (at day 1+2) the engine is out an ready to transport and the car is also back on his wheels.
Im getting faster every time i remove the engine^^

heare some pictures:

Removed axle. Ok the axlecarrier is a little bit improved but it worked

Ready for the transport:

Now i drive a double engine astra caravan with over 400hp :-)

Tomorrow i´ll drive to Imhof Performance for the engine rebuild.

Heare is what i have done the last Days:

Stripped down the engine to the Block and made a bracked for the cranksensor:

removed the bottem block and the crankshaft. Also i cleand all sealings

Now the Bad News:

I found something missing :-(
The Pistoncooler of cylinder 1 broke off. I dont knew why.

Found it in the sieve of the oilpump:

But ther was a little part missing. I didn´t found it but i found a scratch in the bush of cylinder 2 whitch size matthers the with missing part:

I already tried to hone it but the scratch is to deep.
So next work is to build a tool to exchange the damaged bush :-(

he was originally running a z20net crank with a z22se trigger internal and external by the looks of it
hes got the z22se ecu

yours is the 60-2 dave and the z22se is 6+1 🙂

Hi Dave,

i have to go to an external trigger because i got a 2.2 forged Eagle crankshaft. At this crank is no chance to place a triggerwheel internal so i use a external triggerwheel.

I had an 2.0 crank with internal triggerwheel for the z22se ecu. I´ll sell the old parts soon if you are interested contact me

ZZP Stage 2 Cams & and the new Sleve

Yesterday i got all the parts back. The Sleeve is drilled and honed and the block got planed also. Today i´ll clean everything a little and tomorrow the parts get back together but at the moment the trunk of my dayli looks like this:

Hey Carl I think it is the same like yours. A mate had one unused from a rally car build. So I bought it.

The Eagle Crank at her new home:

The block, crank, pistons and coils are fitted now. Today ill replace the cams and fit the block and head together. Mybe tomorrow the engine will go back in the car

Fitted the IAT Sensor

Cleand the Laminovas. The 3 on the right side are still dirty. There was so many Oil in there...
