Well your lucky still you didn't get stopped. I had this a while back and when I looked into it, you have to be careful. A framing a car makes it the same as towing a trailer, if your over your gross vehicle weight then your in the proverbial. An A frame is only to be used for moving a vehicle to a place of safety. Plus as far as I can tell, every single car has a 750kg un-braked trailer limit anything over that (almost all cars on the road) requires a braking system which is operated by and large, by the weight going forward on the hitch. I ended up borrowing a trailer from my brother-in-law to move a car once as I couldn't tow it on an A frame. I know we've all done it and I'm glad you got back safe, but these days, it's just not worth the risk of loosing your car to the police on a technicality.
On a lighter note, the car looks great mate.
